Labor Day Marathon Boasts Digitally Remastered Episodes, Includes All First-Season Episodes Uncut, Oscar. Nominated Theatrical and 20th Anniversary Special
"M*A*S*H," one of the most celebrated series in television history, pitches its cable tent exclusively at Hallmark Channel beginning Monday, September 1 (6:30 a.m. - 9 p.m. E/P). A Labor Day marathon will feature all of the series first season episodes uncut with content from its original debut on CBS. Hallmark Channel then brings out the heavy artillery with the feature film that started it all. "M*A*S*H," the movie, airs Monday, September 1 (9-11:30 p.m. E/P). Directed by Academy Award. nominee Robert Altman and starring Donald Sutherland, Elliott Gould, Tom Skerritt, Sally Kellerman and Robert Duvall, the 1970 film was nominated for five Academy Awards., including Best Picture, and earned the coveted Oscar. statuette for Best Screenplay. The Labor Day "M*A*S*H" Marathon concludes with a 21 gun salute " "Memories of "M*A*S*H" 20th Anniversary Special." Hosted by Shelley Long and featuring comedic clips and candid stories from the cast and crew, this inside look at television's most acclaimed series airs Monday, September 1 (11:30 p.m. - 1 a.m. E/P). The acclaimed award-winning comedy then helicopters into homes Mondays through Fridays (8 p.m. - 1 a.m. E/P) with uncut episodes containing footage from its original 11 year run from 1972-83. 255 episodes of "M*A*S*H" have been digitally remastered, including the two-and-a-half hour finale, which, 20 years later, still holds the record as the most-watched television show of all time. For nine of its 11 seasons, "M*A*S*H" was a Top Five show. The series was nominated for 109 Emmy. Awards, winning 14; earned 22 Golden Globe Award nominations, winning eight; and won four Humanitas Prizes and six People's Choice Awards. Alan Alda, McLean Stevenson, Wayne Rogers, Larry Linville, Gary Burghoff, Loretta Swit, Harry Morgan, Mike Farrell, David Ogden Stiers, Jamie Farr and William Christopher were series regulars. In addition, some of Hollywood's A-list made guest appearances on the show including Blythe Danner, Brian Dennehy, Laurence Fishburne, Teri Garr, Edward Herrman, Ron Howard, John Ritter, Patrick Swayze and Rita Wilson.
