I have been in local and public access TV for about 10 years now. I have had my own show for about 8 years now.

Are there any tips you recommend for someone who is interested in starting a public access show with a great idea and no experience? Thank you.

Yes... Start now. dont delay because you lack expirence... the sooner you get started the sooner you will be expirenced.

Also... keep in mind, no matter how well you plan, no matter how well organized, no matter how well thought out your show is... the first one will suck.. allow for that and don't become discouraged. Your show will only get better after that.

I have been producing a public access program since OCt 2001. The independent producers in San Luis Obispo have formed a non-profit to claim the PEG funds which have accumulated. We are interested in how other public access producers are setting guidelines for programming especially in the area of Underwriters and the use of 'ads' in the guise of crediting underwriters. There is a fine line and no government control over public access. The control is given to the Franchiseing body.

Looking for Help with Starting a show

I am looking to start a LIVE cable access show in the southern california area markets. I would appreciate any assistance anyone can provide me in learning what companies are out there that

1. can help produce the show, and
2. has the ability to air it.

I believe I will likely need to contact the individual cable companies to get it aired, but I am having problems connecting with the right people.

Any assitance anyone can give me would be greatly appreciated.
